Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what damn.chat (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the AI CAPTCHA at damn.chat and the addresses that lead to it, why we collect it, who it is shared with and how long it is kept. It applies from the moment you enter the site. By using the site you accept this policy along with our Terms and Conditions.
The short version
- Your messages and any photos you send go to Anthropic’s Claude AI, which runs the conversation and decides whether you’re human.
- Conversations are deleted automatically 30 minutes after your last message.
- The site that sent you here learns only whether you passed, never what you said.
- No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your data.
1. What we collect
- Your messages. Up to 20 messages per conversation, each up to 1,000 characters.
- Images you choose to send. Up to two per message, from your files or taken with the camera button. The camera only turns on when you tap that button, and photos taken with it are not saved to your device’s photo library.
- Your IP address. Used to limit how many requests one address can make and to block abuse.
- Standard request details. Like any website, our hosting provider records basic information about each request, such as IP address, browser type and time.
- The return address. If the link that brought you here names a site to return to, we use it to send you back there.
We don’t ask for your name, email address or any account, and you never need to sign in.
2. How we use it
- To hold the conversation and decide whether you are a person.
- To send you back to the site that asked, with a one-time pass token.
- To keep the service safe, for example by stopping scripts that flood it with requests.
- To check the CAPTCHA is judging fairly: from time to time the text of a finished conversation (never images) is emailed to the site operator for review. We also keep running totals, such as the number of conversations and what the AI costs, with no personal details in them.
3. Who we share it with
- Anthropic processes your messages and images through its Claude API to write the replies and reach the verdict. Anthropic handles that data under its commercial terms and its privacy policy.
- Vercel hosts the site, and the database service connected to it holds conversations while they are active.
- Our email provider delivers the occasional review email described above to the operator.
- The site that sent you here receives a one-time token. When it checks that token with us, it learns only whether you passed. It never receives your messages, your images or your IP address from us.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it or to protect people’s safety or rights.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
4. How long we keep it
- Conversations, images and pass tokens: deleted automatically 30 minutes after your last activity. A pass token works only once.
- IP addresses used for rate limits: held only in server memory, for an hour at most.
- Review emails: kept in the operator’s inbox until they are deleted. Ask us and we’ll delete yours.
- Provider logs: Anthropic and Vercel keep their own records for limited periods under their own policies.
5. Cookies and storage on your device
We don’t use cookies for tracking or advertising, and the site loads no third-party scripts. Your browser keeps two things for convenience:
- your theme choice (auto, light or dark), in local storage;
- an offline copy of the CAPTCHA page, so that reloading without a connection shows a clear message instead of a browser error.
You can clear both at any time in your browser’s settings.
6. Your choices and rights
- You decide what to type and what to show. The CAPTCHA never needs sensitive information, so please don’t share passwords, financial or health details, or personal information about other people.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information. Email me@damn.chat and we’ll help.
- Because we don’t collect names or accounts, tell us roughly when you used the CAPTCHA and something you wrote, so we can find the right conversation.
7. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, pass tokens work once, conversations expire quickly, and access to stored data is limited to the operator and the providers listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you send.
8. Where data is processed
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws from yours.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
